About the Library

Parma Public Library

The current Library building was constructed in 1977 at its present location of 7 West Avenue in the Village of Hilton. The Parma Public Library has rendered continuous service to the residents of the Hilton-Parma community since about the year 1885.

At 8,000 square feet, it was built to house about 40,000 volumes. Currently it houses over 92,000 items in what could best be described as a tight fit. Among the many services provided are the computerized catalog and computers for the public (and instructions for their use), library tours, story times, book groups for children, teens and adults, film programs, visiting artist programs, home delivery of books to people, and renewal of books by phone. It is also a drop off point for donations to the Hilton Food Shelf.
